Sharon is a passionate, motivated and highly skilled teacher, holding an MA in Directing for Theatre and a BA in Speech and Drama studies.
With over ten years experience teaching students of all ages, Sharon has worked in many private schools and highly respected training colleges throughout Ireland and the UK, including the prestigous Gaiety School of Acting Full Time Course, The Independent Theatre Workshop, and The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School, in London, where she is currently Head of Speech. Sharon also currently teaches creative drama & directs the Youth Theatre with Montage Theatre Arts, South London.
Sharon teaches a wide range of disciplines including acting, creative drama and musical theatre. She has worked as a singing and voice coach with the Irish National Youth Theatre. Over the years, she has successfully prepared many students for examinations with several examining bodies including L.A.M.D.A, Guildhall, Trinity College London and The Leinster School of Music and Drama, where she co-founded and co-wrote the first Musical Theatre exam syllabus in Ireland.
Sharon is committed to maintaining a creative, positive and fun environment in her classes, that allows students to grow in confidence, express themselves and develop skills that will benefit them both inside and outside of the classroom.
She is CRB checked and holds a current DBS certificate. She has also completed a first aid course as well as a child welfare and protection course. Sharon is available for private tuition / group workshops which can be tailored to suit any age group & to cover specific elements of musical or dramatic performance.
